I read about that, I haven't been able to find one successfully to see though. I'd like to see what it actually looks like.

In a related topic, I read somewhere that Pioneer no longer makes their TV's, or was it the plasma panels. Regardless, anyone else heard something similar?

Ya a guy a my local Hi-Fi shop said the same thing, I don't really care i m using a
a 2048 x 1152 ress monitor i can't go back to the low low ress of 1080p(1920x1080). I know the colors and black levels are a little bit better on the high end tv sets, i m just wondering if any of the leaser tech will carry over to the high end monitor market.

Yes, Pioneer exited the Plasma TV business last year. It seems the $5000+ market wasn't very good for them even with their well received product. And the economy has only gotten worse. This Mitsubishi set seems to be in the same price range. IIRC, it was demoed over a year ago.

It also seems the 3-d sets will be priced in the 5 g area for a decent size set. Seems they took no heed to pioneers troubles in that price catagory. That price arena is a tough nut in a good economy, but a down one, your gonna try a 5 g set??

True enough. The first year of any product introduction is likely to be in an early adopter price range, though. Pioneer kept their price premium even on their later generation Kuros as LCD prices were collapsing. I guess we'll see if prices eventually come down on 3d sets and if the tech will even resonate with consumers...

Edit: Noticed the Mits set also lists itself as 3d ready...

I'm not one to jump onto the latest band wagon; give it a couple of years & see what happens. You never know when the next Hi-8 video cassette is coming along~
