I wouldn't say the Nextel drivers are the "best available", but they are nice. I wouldn't mind getting my ears on them.

That's a surprisingly traditional design considering what he's done w/ single drivers, horns & TL designs on the DIY & Firstwatt side.

MSRP of $25,000, hmmmm.....not today. I would like to here them with some tube power though.
Most of them only hear how loud it sounds, and the rest of us hear everything else -

    At 83dB/W/M , I really doubt that.

edit 1: main page shows 86
edit 2: back to 83dB, as per owner's manual

I believe Nelson and Pass Labs are working on a current speaker as well. Nelson started out working at ESS and IIRC, he was part of a design team that came up with the Heil tweeter or EMT............can't remember the model but what ever the first ESS tweeter was.

The speakers the OP is talking about got great reviews.

EDIT: Sorry the SR1 is the new speaker I was thinking of the Rushmore which was Pass Labs 1st speaker

I don't know what NP was thinking but these speakers are very inefficient.

I think he wants to sell Bigger Pass Lab Amps with them. :D

And for $25000, they better looks cooler. I know beauty is in the eyes of the beholder but theoe towers don't look beautiful to me.

The lowest woofer's efficiency is 89db, minus 6db for baffle step/crossover loss, and you're at 83db.

    And I think they're sexy.

To me, sexy means a little more curvy. Not a small cube stacked on a larger one. :D

But they definitely seems masculine to me. More manly (not Manley).

And they sure needs Manly Power such as this if they are really 83db.

Now, here is one (make it two) sexy mama I like to try!

Gentlemen! Now, there is nothing wrong with the curvy things suck. How they sound is entirely a different matter and depends on who and what is driving them from behind. :D
