damn... my 52" lcd is only a couple years old. Wonder how long I can hold out before getting a 72" lcd. 72" would look so good in my living room.

For what you will spend on a 72" I'd rather get a projector with 126" screen.

Agreed with the projector route. That's a no brainer if you have the room....and if your room can handle a 72" screen you should be able to handle a projector screen and depending on what you buy can come out spending much less.

Its quoted as being only $3499 at release. That's not too bad in my opinion. Give it a year/year and a half and it will be down to 2 grand easily.

My living room has tons of windows and I just don't want to deal with setting up a projector and screen (already tried running wires in the attic--about 3 foot of insulation above the living room, no thanks). 72" sounds just about perfect, my tv stand is 70" wide so it would be just about perfect.

That's pretty sexy! Too bad i'm spoiled on my 65" tv, so I really don't think I could drop below this one in size ever again.

Umm, does your projector have 3D feature and wireless HDMI (just to name a couple)? 3D BluRays are almost here - would be pretty cool to have (with those BlueTooth glasses and all). You will need 3D capable TVs and BluRay players though (PS3 so far is the only one confirmed to be firmware-upgradable).

Same here, Jeff. I got mine about a month ago, and so far the 360 is losing the battle. I very rarely play games, but connectivity to my PC is important.
    - PS3 plays *all* movies, 360 plays around 60%
    - PS3 runs cool, 360 runs HOT
    - PS3 loads bluray load time is FAST
    - PS3 can resume blurays!!!! my Sony 550 cannot
    - PS3 has built-in wireless-g adapter, for 360 I had to shell out 60 bucks

    - PS3 has atrocious user interface, 360 has a pleasant interface (PS3 is ugly too)
    - PS3 needs its own BlueTooth remote, 360 can be controlled by Harmony (older Harmony)
    - 360 has better games database, but as I said, I do not play games much (4 360 games bought in 1.5 years, 1 PS3 game).
