Consequently, it will likely be several years before the technology becomes popular — if at all.
....and another how many years and upgrades or "versions" to perfect? No thanks. I'll stick with what I have.

Besides, partially color blind folks can not experience the entire effect once it's perfected anyways so what's the rush?

As much as people watch TV, can 3D possibly be good on the eyes? I'm not saying watching 2D as much as many do is good for the eyes, but a 3D TV image isn't natural. We see in 2D. 3D isn't seen as much as it's a perception -- aka depth perception.

Plus, are we really going to wear cumbersome glasses? Isn't that part of what killed virtual reality as a consumer concept?

3D has been around for many years and it has came and gone as a fad before, I doubt this time will be any different.

Perhaps some day when you can have holographic movies displayed in your living room and these movies are interactive it will be more than a passing fad.

Well, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all :D

I read that as having holographic interactive **** in your living room. Must be late.
