Rented two movies this weekend both said they supported something called d box. I went to the website and read about them. So from what I understand it is like the older rumble subs that you bolt to your furniture? Has anyone had any experience with this system? If so how do you like it?

That's basically the idea. I would also recommend bass shakers if you like that kind of stuff.

I saw D-Box years ago, ironically while I was shopping for my LSi15s.

I was in a Tweeter store (that has since closed its doors) and saw a set of theatre chairs - I was also in the market for theatre seating - I asked how much. Now, I was accustomed to seeing $1k per chair prices. Guy said "$4k." There were two chairs and a love seat. I said "$4k for all of it?" He said, "No, $4k per chair."
    I said ".....................oh."
Turns out the chair included DBox. "What the hell is that?!"
Then he explained it to me. I laughed to myself, not believing what I was hearing, and sure that no one would buy such a thing.

Fast-forward to today - my local digital cinema (The Cannery Hotel & Casino) offers D-Box as an upgrade option to select movies. Its the equivalent in price to a 3D premium. Still haven't paid the money for it, and I'm STILL convinced that there is a VERY small market for this gimmick.
Do you hear that buzzing noise?

I have hear that avatar will be supporting this or something like it. I am not sure if it is worth it. I already tick off the parents and I am sure people in an apartment would hate me.

I have a Buttkicker, which I think makes sense because it makes my couch feel like it's on a wood floor instead of on carpet-on-concrete, which I like. But the D-Box thing? Kinda' silly to me. Too much like an amusement park ride. I don't want to lean left and right when there's a car chase in a movie.
