I just got this receiver and am having some trouble using the dimmer button on the remote. If the receiver is set to CD and I turn it on and press the dimmer button on the remote nothing happens. But if I switch to say PHONO it works. I know the intstructions say something about the dimmer button having no effect on VIDEO 1 and VIDEO 2.

Possibly the batteries are weak. They always give you the cheapest batteries. The dimmer does work on cd but only after I use the dimmer on another input first.

LOL I opened up my son's 32" Vizio LCD TV and set it up for him. The batteries came with the remote. Brand: Toshiba. I thought that was kind of funny.
Do you hear that buzzing noise?

Such is the bane of the subcontractor. Samsung remote control, Sony batteries.

Is there a button on the front panel that controls the dimming level? If so try using that.
