Hey guys and gals.....The other day I did a very cool car event. It was a 1 mile run...It was from a standing start to the end of 1 mile to see what speed you can get too.....here is a picture of my GPS unit and also the video of the speedo.I could not floor it until just after 3rd gear....if I did I would just smoke the tires...oh the car is a modded Corvette C6 Z06

Wow! I hope you did that on a track as I wouldn't want anything to happen to that sweet ride. Just for kicks, how modified is your Z06?

Not a track but a 2 mile runway.....I would never do that on the street. My Z06 has cold air intake, cam, headers ported TB and intake and a tune.

Well it depends if it's street driven car or if it's track driven. There are people who have 600+ HP on the street and have no problems....it all depends on your driving style.

That is awesome! I remember you mentioning you were going to do this event sometime in the past; glad to see the outcome. Bet it was a lot of fun. Any issues with crosswinds and keeping it straight down the runway, at least after traction was no longer the biggest factor? Do you have any more modification plans for it, or just enjoying how it is for a while?

    Thanks for sharing!!

Yes it was crazy fun but when your hauling butt your are very focused. At the beginning there was no problem with the wind but towards the end of the day there was a head/cross wind.It did move you around just a little to where you noticed it.Right now no plans for mods cause it has sick power and is reliable.

My dream car is a Vette. Working on it - I've got about 4-6 years of plotting and scheming before it happens. Even then, it won't be a high-end Z06 - just the regular car.

BTW - I don't think I've ever broke the century mark in a passenger automobile.
Do you hear that buzzing noise?

I know. 100-150 more and you'll be able to run with the big boys, if you know what I mean. ;)

    Dale would be proud. :D

lol..I remember hitting a paltry 115 mph as a youth on a new highway..yeah I was a bit stupid but the road was clear for miles...in an old Plymouth and I was afraid that the body of the car was going to fall apart...but I imagine that this car is held together a bit 'better'!
