Where do the new Polk speakers on Ebay come from?
There are multiple Ebay sellers with what they claim are brand new, factory sealed Polk speakers. They are pretty much all discontinued models (e,g,. Monitor series, some RTi series). Do you suppose they came from authorized Polk retailers who wanted to get rid of discontinued products or did they "fall off a truck"? Obviously there wouldn't be any Polk warranty but some of them offer a store warranty which essentially means ship it back at the buyer's expense. The prices are generally about 50% of what they cost new.
