So I'm almost set to pull the trigger on the Yamaha RXZ-11 11.2 head unit. I plan on running it 5.1 with 3 extra zones for other rooms in the house.
Does anyone have any experience with the unit and will it be able to run the 4ohm speakers?
Home Theater magazine has a review here.http://www.hometheatermag.com/receivers/808yam11/
I see they tested at 4 ohms here:

I saw that same unit running a pair of smaller Magnepans and they are 4ohms for sure. It ran them fine on a show room floor, sounded great all the way up to super loud volumes. How ever the Magnepans did sound better on a power amp. I think you will be fine.Monitor 60s, CS10 front

One of the nice fallbacks is that it does have pre-outs to run regular amps with them. Problem with that is all the amps I have are rated too much for the 200 wpc ceiling of the lci's.
Anyone else have an opinion on the Yamaha? -

The Yami is a great piece. I would not worry to much about overpowering the LSi's. I have hit my LSi-15's with 1200wpc from a Sunfire Stereo Grand 600x2 which doubles down to 1200wpc at 4ohm. I ran this configuration for several hours straight and they did not give the slightest hint of troubles. I am not recommending that you do so with yours, only stating that they thrive on power and so long as it is good clean power you will be amazed by what they can do.The Gear...
