Cambridge Audio DVD89 HDMI DVD Player(Universal) - Silver - 9/10 - *SOLD* to Boone

I've had this player for a year or so and its seen about 3 movies total. It was in a spare room and I'm just cleaning up loose stuff. It's a neutral sounding player with no edge or sharpness. Cambridge offered it with HDMI output and upconversion thru 720p. I know that's not the latest and greatest but as a standalone player its pretty feature packed regardless.
Cambridge has been a favorite of mine for awhile and I've owned alot of the product line over the years. This is another solid piece from them with the capability to also play DVD-A & SACD with a fully gold plated rear end featuring multi-channel outputs. If it would be your main DVDP/ CDP or just a spare room unit like it was for me, you'll love it.

Just read the list of goodies taken straight from the website.

I may be interested in this player. How do you think it compares to the Denon dvd 757, in terms of stereo playback. That is the player I currently have, and I am looking to upgrade. Just wondering if it will be much of an improvement over my current player.

I love a gold plated rear end.

    LOL :D Ed....me too.

I posted pictures other than stock. The DVD player is actually made of Duncan Hines yellow, extra moist.

I would expect it to sound better as a standalone CDP in stereo and multi-channel. The Denon will have the edge in the video department thanks to Faroudja. If it's mainly a DVD player, stick with the Denon.

$125, Cambridge Audio, HDMI, and YOU?

720p for the price of S-video, and honestly, most won't be able to tell it from 1080p on a 42" or smaller. Why do you always have nice gear, when I have no money?

I've installed several of these players, and currently use one in my own system as our primary player. Great player for the price.

Yep. Was serious. No worries though. Glad to see you got it sold. I was wanting something a little more dedicated and higher up the food chain anyway. But for the price. I was willing to give it a try.
