Can you put it together on your own or do I need to explain the point better for you? C'mon, let's not make Wisconsin look bad.

You should stop making yourself look bad and not worry about the wonderful state of Wisconsin! What **** difference is there in those debts of car loans or mortgage or credit card debts? Debt is debt pal, maybe you should explain that to yourself, or ask one of your children, they might be on your same level.:D

You're a mouthy one aren't ya? Why don't you bring your **** down here to Hartford, WI and I'll teach you a thing or two about economics. Gratis.

Don't get pissy because you look like a moron. If you can't figure out the difference between credit card debt and a mortgage you're probably a lost cause.

I was giving you the benefit of the doubt you were just attempting to be a smartass, hence the reply. I didn't know you actually believed there isn't any difference between credit card debt and a people who pay their mortgages and car loans within the terms of their loans.

In fact, the whole purpose of me pointing it out early on was to cut guys like you off at the head in anticipation....

    BUT...

....lo and behold there were two of you with the "durr durr durr durr your mortgage isn't paid off you're in debt hypocrite..durr durr durr...." comments anyways.

Try reading the whole thread next time. Perhaps you'd have a better grasp on what I have been getting at with the young man.

I don't thin BAF is a bad guy at all....that said, what would concern me is that if he needs someone to float him 20 bucks on a credit card...and he's posting it on a public forum, to me that screams that my parents/family/friends won't (for whatever reason) do it....that sends out some pretty serious warning flags. Now, I'm not as hardcore as Demiurge is, but I basically agree with his point. Again, 20 bucks for most of us in negligeable but the point being that it would seem nobody in his immediate surroundings is willing to help him, I'd be VERY leary....assuming that he asked his immediate circle. If he didn't ask his immediate circle, I'd have to ask why....again, it's almost circular logic but all arrows point to "proceed with caution"

Second, if you post it, it's fair game. If you don't wish to entertain questions about your request, don't freaking post it at all. That's just poor form. Either ask someone in private or be resourceful and procure the item locally (ie, order through a local B&M).

It seems to me that this whole thing has been blown way out of proportion. It's not like some people seem to think that the money was a loan he had the money the only problem was that the company that had the part is credit card only no PaYPal so being that for whatever reason he cut up his CC's he simply needed someone to order the part and they would be reimbursed instantly not in a week or till payday etc. I happen to both have a CC and the 3 mins of my life to spare :p

I am certain that the OP is acutely aware of the dangers of CC overuse otherwise he would not have cut his up to begin with now even if buying a part for a luxury item/CD player wasnt the smart or right thing to do if you owe CC companies I am not going to judge him it's his money and he can spend it how ever he wants ultimatley that means that he will have to spend more money on inrterest owed for every dollar that isnt paid off on those CC's if he can live with that so can I. :D

Well, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all :D

You made the point better than I did since it got lost in a sea of smart assed comments that should have been cut off at the head from the get go.

At no point did I ever insunate a person shouldn't ever incur any debt. Hence the comment about a mortgage early on in this thread. A mortgage, in probably most of our cases, is good debt. It's an appreciating asset.

Credit card debt, in general, is bad debt. Especially if it's so bad you're cutting up your cards and coming to a forum of relative strangers to get fronted a few bucks to buy a part for a non-essential item.

Credit cards are usually used to pay for items that will depreciate in value the instant you buy them and the more you get tacked with 20% interest rates because you can't or won't pay it off.....it makes that "investment" all the worse.

The fact I need to say any of that is a sad commentary.

I don't think BAF is bad either, although many of his posts here are questionable. I guarantee that what the people in this thread are saying about not enabling him are doing him far more good than those of you who think you're being kind and giving.
