single disk cd player and integrated amplifier

Happy New Year everyone. Well last year was a good year for me for upgrading the home theater system. I bought a new TV, PlayStation 3 for the bluray player, new bluray receiver and tv stand. However after putting the components inside the TV stand I found out that my 5 disk Onkyo CD player would not fit inside. So now I am looking for a new single disk CD player.
Just curious if anyone knows of any single disk that are not huge in depth size. I like the new Yamaha CD-S700 but its way too much for what I am looking to spend.
Also I would love to buy an amplifier to boost more power to my home theater system. Most of the people on this site told me that separate components is the way to go. However a lot of the integrated amplifiers only have about 4 speaker inputs. I want more then that so I can run all of my speakers in my system. So I would need at least 5 plus one for the sub-woofer.
If you look at amplifiers that have a lot of speaker inputs they can get quite pricey. Just curious if anyone has any feedback on this.
Oh yeah one more thing , I was also curious in hooking up my turntable to my new amp however the turntable's cord is not long enough. Do all turntables have the input cord attached?
