Hello,

I'm currently in the process of putting together my first 5.1 speaker system and I'm trying to choose the right center speaker. I'm worried that my receiver doesn't have enough power to feed the CSi A4. The Pioneer VSX-1016TXV receiver can output 110 watts per channel (770 watts total); however, the CSi A4 speaker is capable of handling up to 180 watts. Is this difference in power considered acceptable in terms of compatibility and overall audio quality?

The receiver is capable of supporting seven speakers and a subwoofer; however, I'll only being using five speakers and a subwoofer. Does that still mean there will only be 110 watts sent through each channel?

My current speaker setup consists of two Rti6 fronts, two FXi3 surrounds, and a Velodyne DPS-10 subwoofer.

I'll greatly appreciate any help given. Thanks. :)

You're fine, stop worrying about it and great setup. Why the CSiA4 over the actual matching center channel CSi6? Just wondering.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

    Hey dorokusai,

Thanks for the prompt reply. I decided to go with the CSiA4 instead because the room is fairly small (10' x 12').

I always thought that the CSiA6 was better suited with the floor standing models (RTi A7, RTi A9, etc.). Would you suggest that I opt for the CSiA6 instead?

P.S. I realized that I made a mistake in my first post. It's the FXi A4 surround speakers that I actually own, not FXi3. Nonetheless, I think they're both nearly the same anyway.

    Thanks again. :)
