Down to 2 options (I think), looking for your insight!
My current setup is:
DENON 1507
random mix-matched 5.0 setup (RCA mains, no name center, JBL rears)
Movies/Games = 60%
Music = 40%
living Room is 23 X 17 X 9 plus the dining and kitchen extend off of this as one space ( bottom floor of a townhouse) so prob. looking at atleast 4500 cubic sq feet?
I'd like to keep my receiver for a bit longer but it's time to start building a matching set of speakers.
I'd like floor standing speakers for the front w/ bookshelf's in the back. plus a sub
Option 1
RTI8 main and Rti4 rear
Buy matching center and sub shortly (2-3 months)
Option 2
Buy the Rti A3s and CSIA4 from Crutchfield and get the PSW111 or PSW110 (free) or pay difference for a better one (DSW500?)... and then let this 3.1 hold me over till I can get my hands on a pair of RTI A5s and move the A3's to the back?
I have no way of auditioning these
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
THANKS

I have RTi8s with a CSi5 center - its the best match. Very happy with them. I'm using monitor 40's for rears, again very happy with them.
I'm in the process of replacing my PSW10 sub, I've pretty much decided on the Micropro 1000. I bid on one yesterday on eBay and missed it, and am working on another one.

Start with the RTiA's, and get the bigger sub. I think you'll be happier with a 3.1 for gaming and movies than you will with just fronts, rears and no sub. The sub and center really hold down a HT rig.Home TheaterRTiA5 - CSiA6 - FXiA6 - PSW650 - Pioneer Elite SC-55 - Carver AV-505 - Sony 46" 120Hz - Monster HP 2400 - Xbox 360 - Playstation 32 ChannelPolk RTA 15TL - Harman Kardon HK3485 - HK DVD48 - Signal Cable IC's and speaker cables

I would go with option #2. This is exactly what i did. I recently purchased the A5's and moved the A3's to the rear. I am happy with the setup. My next upgrade will be the sub. The PSW110 is ok but i am wanting more. The sub adds quite a bit to the setup so i would skip the rears for now and get the 3.1 setup... You can always purchase a chap set of book shelfs to put in the rear until you can afford the A5's too.Front - RTiA5's
Rear - RTiA3's
Center - CSiA4
Sub - PSW110 -
Here is what I would do:
Go to newegg.com and get some Monitor 70 towers and a quality matching Polk center and surrounds and a PSW505 sub.
You could even skip on surrounds and use your current JBL's for now and upgrade them in the future.
The deals that newegg have now are sick. You can even find coupon codes all over the net.
Enjoy and welcome to Club Polk!

Okay so my order looks like:
RTi A3 x2
CSi A4
and I can either get the
PSW 111 - FREE
PSW 110 - FREE
PSW 125 - $50
DSW 500 - $260
I don't mind springing for the DSW500 if it's worth it ... all free shipping from Crutchfield ..
What do you think? I'd basically run the A3s up front till i buy some Rti8s or Rti A5s -
I say go for the DSW if you can swing it, $260 is a good price for it brand new. That's pretty much what I did with my system when I was starting up. I used the Rti4s as front speakers with the CSi3 and PSW. Took a couple of years until I got the Rti8s from Polk Direct. Now the Rti4s are rears and the Rti8s are fronts.
If you can, I'd go for the DSW 500, instead of having to possibly upgrade your system from a PSW 111 or 110, once you get those larger fronts. On the note, you might want to check out the RTi8s before they're no longer being sold. Get them refurbished from Polk Direct and you should be saving a heap of money, instead of going all in on the new model.
