Well since I have been the lucky winner of Bens Karma I have decided to do a few more things to my 2.3 tl while he is working on the crossovers. When I bought my 2.3's they have two different tweeters, the top tweeter has been switched on both speakers, Im not sure what one it is? I pulled out the top two and the original is an sl3000 and I believe that the other is the rdo194 I think. So my question is which one is better? Also when I pulled the pr out of the first one there was a couple of the nuts that hold the top of the speaker on laying in the bottom, is this jst something that happens over time or do you think that someone has had these apart before? I have attached some pics of the tweeters to help out a bit. Thanks

Use the RD0's................they should be RD0198-1. What size are the connector tabs on the RD0's. That's the only way to tell the diff btw the 194's and 198's. If it fits the stock (female) connectors then it's likely the tweets are RD0198-1's.

As far as I know the replacements for the 3000 is the RDO 198. The RDO 194 is the replacement for the SL2000. I can't tell by looking as I've never seen a pic of the 198 before but those look like the 194's. If that's the case then whomever replaced them didn't get the right ones.

However, I'm sure others will chime in shortly...

There is no way I know of to visually tell the tweeters apart (from a front view). I forget which is which, but one of the RD0 models has one large and one small blade connector and one of the RD0 models has the same size blade connector for both connectors.

this one has one large and one small connector.

Those are RD0198-1's, which are the direct replacement for the SL3000. The RD0 is a much better tweeter, so I recommend that you replace all the SL3000's.

That is not normal, so it's likely that someone had the end caps off for some reason.
