Onkyo TX-SR604 . Want to upgrade from ol Polk RM6750.

15 x 25' room. Listen to music mostly. Like the M70 deal @ newegg and was considering the CS2 with M40's for surround.
Liked the reviews for the newewr bookshelf RTi A1's @ Crutchfield.

My concern is the towers would have to be placed in the corners of the room
and about 3" from being flush. Will that cause a problem?

No, it shouldnt be a problem up against the wall. Mine were close to the wall with out a problem They are a very deep speaker and even up to the wall the protrude into the room pretty far. Sub placement however can be more tricky.
Depending on what you are trying to use the system for, I did not love the M70 and traded them back to store for a pair of RTi8's, which look and sound better to me, but mine are strictly for stereo, not HT.
If you are using a sub, then the RtiA1,s should be fine, if you are not using the sub, go with the Monitor 70.

I was going to use my old Polk sub and I am using the speakers strictly for music. If I go Crutchfield the PSW111 is a freebie right now. Just all the positives I have read on the M70's sided me away from the RTI A1. Concerned also the M70 may be a bit overkill for low level late night listening.

I would get the 70's and call it good. I have the exact set up you are considering and it is awesome. Toe them in a little towards your listening area and you should be fine. Welcome to Club Polk.

You prefer Rti-8s for music..? Well, I guess this is a subjective hobby after all..I really don't like the tweeter in the 8s...too darned 'bright'...

M70s sound more 'musical' to me. In fact the only Rtis I actually like are the 12s or the newer A9s?

But not everyone hears the same thing.

Well, I'm leaning toward the M70's. As I look at it they are the older model of the now
newer and $$$$ towers if I go speaker for speaker and forget about cabinet looks.

Concerns - for Music listening only often at low volume PM levels.

    1. Will the towers be "too much" for the room and needs?

    2. Instead of CS2 could I use a C10 ( daughter has one not using).

I just want some nice rich music vs the sattelite system I have wich is ok for noise but not much else.
