Timeframes are very nice speakers for what they are, the 400s are second in line or next to the bottom in the series depending on your point of view. IMHO they had better be absolutley in mint condition for that price $100.00 or less would be more like it.

Well, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all :D

I ran a pair of TF-350's as my mains for about 5 years. They made a nice upgrade to the system in my son's room when I got my SDA 1B's. Really great speakers, very accurate with a wide soundstage. In nice shape that's a good price.

thanks for the opinions, i really have been hearing some bad things about the 50s, and always heard people talk lovingly about their dcms, as if it was their first car or girlfriend.

Scott, is that the same dude with the TF 600's for sale? If so I had talked to him about the 600's. I wanted to see a pics of the drivers and he all but totally refused to pull the socks off and take pics.

I think the 1000's are the top end.

Hrmmm... i was told in my recent thread about the TF-350s that a good condition pair of 350s would be worth offering $150 for...

hi, no the 600s are a different ad, the 400s i have spoken with owner and will be seeing and hearing tomorrow. they had their ph. no. in ad. the other guy just took craigslist emails, and i havent heard back in the app. 2 hours since i mailed him. from what i was able to read on reviews the socks dont come off and many people find them to be somewhat of a dust magnet, but to aperson they love their older dcm and say newer dcms are crap

Any of the Timeframes are worth $200.00 IMHO but it seems that one can get the 400's or less quite readily for $100.00 or less.

They image quite well and are for the money much better than most speakers but you arent going to get much bass out of them if thats your thing.

Scott, from what I have seen. The socks do come off. I dont think I would buy them without seeing the drivers first. But I am fairly anal. I wanna see the goodies so to speak! If you search DCM on Atlanta Craigslist you may see a few TimeFrame ad's. I would suggest staying away from the newer KC, or KCX or whatever line they are

I thought I read somewhere they had rubber surrounds..I never took the sock off mine.

I had a pr. of the 400's and they were amazing sounding.
Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

got the speakers, im impressed with them, im intriguedthat they have one mid and one tweet each,i have seen online descriptions as having two 6.5s. everything else seems right, they were with original box, foam and even plastic wraps, but no manual. snow, that is the same ad i have emailed about the 600s, still no reply.

Congrats on the new speakers. Here is a link to a PDF copy of the manual. It shows the TF-400's as having two 6.5 woofers and a single tweeter.

snow you are on the scene man, thank you so much. the top speakers feel like a solid plate with tweeter in middle. after looking at manual, the mid bass is mounted behind what they call anti diffractive grill with slots to pass sound. WHEW. i still cant get that guy in canton to return my emails.

The tweeters for the 600s are no longer available so make sure they are working. I own a pair and haven't yet found a suitable replacement.

I just picked up a sweet pair of TF-600's, and had a question for anyone familiar with these. I guess I've had SDA's too long, should they be set up with the DCM logo to the inside or the outside?
