    I am a Vikes fan and am still upset at the outcome, but it really was a great comeback effort and a fun game to watch.

    That was a GREAT game. I almost turned it off, but I am glad I didn't.

    I don't really care for the Vikings one way or the other, but they seem to be hated around here more than any other team. Can someone explain this?

    The two teams that I root for in the NFC are out of the playoffs, so I really don't care what happens in this conference from here on out, but am curious why so many people hate on the Vikings?

    The funny thing is that the same people that are belittling the vikings are the same people that seem to have taken offense when any Viking fans have been happy about a game's outcome. I'm seeing quite a bit of hypocrisy here.

    Great game. Saved my Saints' #1 seed for me. It was the only consolation for a dismal weekend (other than the Browns win!). I hope the Saints aren't headed for playoff meltdown. They have not looked good as of late. :confused:

    I 'get' hating rival teams and all that, so I'm not questioning that. However, with the Vikings it seems like everyone who's not a fan HATES them, I don't really see what with other teams.

    Personally I want the Vikings to do well only because of my respect for Favre. I used to HATE the Vikings and will again when Favre is gone. I am a Packer fan so I know that maybe its hard to understand but thats how I feel. The Bears suck big time and I find it really humorous that they beat the Vikings, Ha Ha Ha.

    The Vikings have always belittled themselves and have done it really well over the years.
    I am a child when it comes to teams I hate.
    A small sampling
    Cowboys
    pre Favre Vikings
    Yankee's and the their fans
    Ravens- low class all the way
    Patriots- Brady is a cheap SOB so I dislike the whole team not that anyone cares
    The Philadelphia Beagles who are similar to the Vikings-real dogs

    Thats enough for now I guess

    Jstas is on record in other football threads as saying that he actually likes the Vikings and just hates their fans and specifically me. I suspect the reason for a fair chunk of the hatred shown on his part is to get a rise out of me....

    I was born and raised on the Vikings, I remember the four trips to the Super Bowl and Fran Tarkenton, the Purple People Eaters and the outdoor games at the Met. Yes, I am a Vikings fan, and always will be, but even for me there are some years where I just don't like them. In recent years, this has been the case more often than not. IMHO this current team is the best one to wear the uniform since the 1998 squad.

    I equate being a Vikings fan with being a Cubs fan. They play great, get your hopes up and for some reason simply cannot finish the job. The collapse of the Vikings does not rest on the shoulders of Brett Farve, rather the entire team has played like **** on both sides of the ball. Special teams can now be added to that list as they more than any other factor are the reason the Vikings lost.

    With the talent the Vikings have, if they cannot play better than this, it's time to get them a head coach that can inspire this team to do better. There are more than a few head coaches out there with Super Bowl rings that would be a huge improvement over Childress.

    Alot of football fans HATE the viqueens for one good reason, the viqueens are one lucky team, so at one time or another they most likely got a super lucky win over your team! So there is a chance they might have spoiled a playoff berth for your team, and that kinda sticks with you.

    The only good thing is that their luck runs out as soon as they get in the playoffs! Ohhhh btw im a huge Packer fan if you dont already know!

    Another bit of useless info I wanted to bring up in the Favre/Packer situation, Aaron Rodgers has a NFL record that Favre cannot ever break, Rodgers is the 1st QB in NFL history to pass for more than 4000 yds in his 1st 2 years as a starter! That is a huge accomplishment IMO!
