Not an owner here but I have had them in the rig for a stint, thanks to Polk. What would you like to inquire about?

If you are interested in them for an HT speaker, they are wonderful. They have great SAF, they are relatively lightweight, look modern and can seamlessly integrate into a rooms decor with a very small footprint.

What is the intended use for these speakers?

Oh man, those would be perfect for you. I demo'd the VM-20's and for HT they did a real nice job. If you ever want to boost the performance a little bit more, you could always add a sub down the line. Polk even has a wireless sub that works pretty dog-gone well with these speakers so you don't have to worry about wires.

I have no interest in the VM series....I can't afford more speakers, but I was always interested in knowing more about the VM and find it interesting that few people talk about it. I wonder where it would rank among the current speaker lines. I know its typically more expensive than the RTi line, but see that few people have them...are they considered generally not worth the price?

Pycroft, I can not answer that. I can't speak to the buying habits of folks I don't even know.

eclimax13, I had that very sub running with the VM-20's and the two blend together very well. That would make a very nice HT setup. Good luck and have fun!

I bought couple of VM30's from Newegg at $299 each right before they were sold out :D - 3 pairs total but only 2 pairs are in use and the 3rd pair is sitting in the corner as I have to wait until we move to a bigger place. Last month I also acquired a pair of VM10's, hoping to wall mount those for PLIIz height in the very near future. Unfortunately I couldn't find good deals or stock on the VM20 for center but hoping Polkdirect on eBay has one in the near future.

These are mainly for the movies and have been tweaking ever since based on the recommendations I've found on different forums. For the prices I paid the VM30's I couldn't be happier as it has very strong high and mid but will not even come near the Monitor series when it comes to the low as it has very tiny woofers and bass radiators. However they do have small footprint and kind of tipsy but for small room, they do blend very well.

I will take some pictures and post them here if you guys don't mind.

ryan...welcome to polk, Im looking forward the pics of your set up. I have noticed the VM30's tend to be cheaper and more available than the 20's. Do you think the 30's could be wall mounted? I havent seen them in person. Thanks.

I got a pair of the VM30's from the polk direct store for an irresistable price and decided to try them in place of my LSi9's in my living room stereo set up.

In my opinion - the 9's are much better for music but the VM30's are better for tv and movies. The vocals are much cleaner from the VM's for TV, but my LSi's are smoother and have more oomph.

I think that the VM30's are great for the living room which is not the optimal listening space, and where I use the speakers more for tv anyway. They are also much easier to drive.

I would say that if the intention is to use these for TV, movies and video games - you would not be dissapointed. If I had never had the LSi's, I would think that these are great for music as well. The are pretty good for music. At least one subwoofer is a must though.

Just one thing to add since you'll be wall mounting them:
If you mount them to a stud (recommended), pulling the wire & getting it concealed is a pain. The place where the wire goes through the mount is right in line with the stud, plus the mount is fairly narrow, so you pretty much gotta notch the stud to get everything looking nice & clean.

Otherwise my thoughts are the same- great looking speaker for a flat panel, doesn't sound bad, plan on adding a sub at some point.
