Sending AVR pre-out signals wirelessly

Is there any product on the market that can send the signal from the pre-outs of an AVR to an amplifier via wireless? I would like to place the amp for my surrounds closer to the speakers (shorter runs of spearker wire). From a previous post, it was advised against using long runs of IC's.

Pre-Amp (2 Ch) - Emotiva USP-1
DSP Minidsp nanoAVR DL
DAC (2 Ch) - Emotiva XDA-2

I believe some HTIB's have this feature but as a separate add-on I haven't seen any on the market.

IMO it would be best to keep your amp and your pre close to gether and run longer speaker cables.

How far away are your speakers from the preamp?

The technology exists (wirless subwoofers and powered speakers), but I don't think it's available for use with a common AVR-Amp.

Someday this will for sure be available. We will then talk about the "air treatments" that makes for a better wireless transmission ;)

I am enjoying the bluetooth ipod streaming into my car stereo. Sounds pretty good to me, and if the air is really cold the bass sounds a lot better :)

I have seen a unit designed for a wireless connection to a subwoofer. One unit plugs into the receiver one into the sub. I am sorry IDK the name but I think I bookmarked it. I search them and let you know if I find it. It does exist :)

I can't say if it would work for F/R though.

Polk makes a wireless sub, it is the PSWi225, not sure if that was what you were talking about.

I can't find the one I bookmarked, but here are a couple I found through a search.
They are not exactly what you wanted as they have built-in amplifiers. The Rockfish are 25wpc each and the KEF are 50wpc. Can't say how well they work, but they are a solution to you problem.

Rocketfish reviews not so good. :(

    KEF: $450 ouch

I can tell you that I used AQ-ICS cabling for a DVD player that was 25-30ft from my receiver (it was on the back shelf with my projector) and it worked okay for me. Maybe you could locate the amp halfway between the front and the back?

Added: Jeff, Yeh I have seen that, but he would need both a sender and a receiver for it to work. The Wireless Polk sub has the receiver built in. (As near as I can tell)

Any wireless audio product I've heard performs poorly compared to a wired system; I'll deal with cables.

Very true, I wasn't sure either.

+1, never cared much for the whole wireless surround craze myself.
