Circuit City Weakness....

Hi there everyone,

As a former commissioned sales counselor of Circuit City, I sold so incredibly many Polk Audio speakers with more confidence and knowledge than any other brand we carried. They're awesome in style, power, sound, and every other minute detail possible.

Unfortunately Circuit City decided to abruptly end their base of knowledgeable and intelligent selling staff and replaced them (myself included among some 2000 others) with $8 per hour order-takers. I strongly recommend placing your money and technical questions more toward other companies including Crutchfield or Ovation before you return to Circuit City as their method of doing business is failing them quickly.

All the respect to the Polk fans out there,
Joe

Thanks for the great advice and information. Sorry to hear that CC's lousy strategy has hurt you. I am sure your knowledge and enthusiasm will be well received here.

I don't like Circuity City. Dumb@$$ employees that follow me around. Not to mention they are slow! Everytime I go to CC I always end up running into the same guy, takes him 45 minutes to check something out. **** he is! My lord! Can't stand em, and their prices are too high!

its all about the same thing, MONEY the cheaper they make the overhead the more the profit they make. so cutting wadges, by hiring unskilled sales people. it is not the sales peoples fault, you got to go to the top to find the guilty people.

Well, I'm willing to bet that in a few years, you will start seeing CC start closing some stores. At the store I used to work at, a good portion of the customers were loyal to us BECAUSE of the sales staff. They hated the BB in the area, because their sales staff was horrible, and could never really give them help.
Now CC has joined BB with a similar type of sales staff, but the store is not set up the same. At BB, you can ignore the sales people for most purchases, and go check-out. You can't do that at CC, so people are going to have to come into contact with these people.
I know a lot of people think most of the sales staff at CC are really stupid, but compared to BB, they are usually better. Most of the guys who had been fired from CC got jobs at BB. The store closest to us had probably 1/2 their staff being ex-CC workers, who couldn't cut it for whatever reason.
My old store was one of the top selling stores out there. But they are already seeing a decline in sales since the change, and also a lot more complaints from customers. And, as more of the veteran people who are still there begin to leave, you will see even sharper drops.
There are some stores that this won't really effect, but as a whole, it will hurt them in the long run.
I am SO glad I left there before the change, because I would have been one of the people let go, for making too much $.

I hate to ask you about your job after just getting let go, but I need an opinion on the Infinity Alpha 25ES's. There's not a single review on the web about them. I am wondering about this specific model because I think the CMMD drivers will match my Interlude IL60 mains and IL36C center. Any comments about any aspect of this speaker/setup?

BB here moved right across the street from CC.... and took away about 95% of their business. I can't imagine CC can survive that blow. I'd like to see a Good Guys and Tweeter open up here. but that isn't going to happen.
    PolkFest 2012, who's going>?

3 new BB's in this area in the last year. Good Guys have been closing. Still one open near me that I stop by from time to time. As long as CC keeps deals like RT600i's for $200 a pair I hope they stay around. They had to have taken a beating on that deal unless Polk had a slug of them in inventory and made them one helluva deal
