SDA's

Recently I heard a pair of SDA's at a friends house and now of course I want a pair.

Anyone have a pair of SDA 1A's for sale, or something similar, I am willing to pay a reasonable amount of cash for a good pair.

I said reasonable not outrageous.;)

There are several SDA models--a whole lineup in fact--one factor to keep in mind is your room size--some of the bigger SDA's require a lot of room to allow them to shine.

What amp do you have? Do you know if its common ground or not?

Also, keep an eye on this thread for some alerts on SDAs for sale in various places.

Welcome to Club Polk Hypnotoad! There is a lot of good advise above. If you are going for the the SDA 1 series might I suggest you look into SDA 1Cs. IMHO, they are leaps and bounds better than the other series 1s.

Sorry for not posting more info.

I live in Houston and my current analog system is:

ProJect Perspective Turntable with Benz Micro Ace cart

ProJect Tube Box II with Mullards

Luxman L-430 amp 105wpc rms continuous 8ohms (very conservatively rated)

Boston Acoustics A200's, A150's, A100's, A70's

My main listening room is 20' x 14'.

I love vinyl and I nearly bought a pair of Martin Logan's recently but even though they sound very very good they just didn't sweep me off my feet.

The ones that did though were the SDA's I heard.

And I meant 1C's not 1A's that was a typo, honest.

Last Christmas I didn't even have a working stereo, but was bitten by the bug.... you know how that goes.

Any advice and help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a pair of 1c's sitting around in my storage room waiting for a new owner.
The only problem is getting them to you. I'm in NYC.

I would be very hesitant to ship any speaker let alone SDA's. You would be better off driving to where they are or starting a relay with Polk members. Using shipping you may end up with some seriously messed up speakers. My .02

don't ship SDA's. to much can go wrong.. yeah some people have successfully shipped them. but why chance it?


Tejas is a big state. some SDA's will reveal themselves in time..

Just kidding.

I have placed wanted ads in Craigslists in my state hoping to flush some out.
