Picked up a pair of Mon 5JR+

I just picked up a pair of Monitor 5JR+ via local CL listing for $30. The cabinets are in great condition, as are the grills. Just a few scratches on the bottom.
The main issue with them is one of the drivers is frozen--(shifted magnet) but I knew that buying them.

It's an MW6502. Do any other Monitor models also use that driver?
There's a pair of Monitor 4 (Series 2) local to me that I'll pick up if they have the same driver.

    Just found the driver listing (here), and it looks like the local Mon 4s have the same driver--just replied to the CL ad.

    Heck of a deal! Hopefully I will be acquiring my first set of Polk's soon, Monitor 10's. :D

    My M5s and M7s have the MW6502 as well. It's my understanding that some of the early runs used the MW6500.

    Yep, according to the listing, the M4 and early 5jr used the MW6500, where the rest of the 4,5 and 7 series appear to use the MW6502.

    Good find. PM me if you have any interest in my Ls70's. I picked up my Rti8's and am having a love affair with them tonight. LOL. The Ls70's are perfect, and for you I will include the second set of sl-6000 tweeters, all for the price I paid for the Rti8's. (a loss on my end, but it will end any desicion on my end which to keep.) I will probably be putting them on Philly CL soon, but I will post them here for Club Polk members first.

    Those monitor 5jr's are some real gems. I wish I hadn't sold mine this year.:(
    Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

    ah crap! I emailed the guy a couple times, but never got a response, and now they aren't listed anymore. :( Man they were only $25 for the pair too.

    Apparently I hadn't received any new emails at all since the 26th. Turns out I reached my maximum online storage and so they weren't allowing any more email to come in. Effers--you'd think they would send me some kind of notice that I was exceeding or coming close to my limits ya know. :mad:

    I did put my phone # in the email, but he didn't call either so I have no idea if he even tried to reply to me. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to keep my eye out for some other 6502s.
