Finally got a chance to see the pics. of the install on my home PC (actually PS3, lol) since the firewalls at work wouldn't let me view them. All I can say is wow, very nice work man. If I still had my 40's as surrounds I would be using this tutorial to hang mine as well. Very nice job.

...My only question is this. Instead of drilling holes (albeit small ones) in the speaker to keep it from falling down could you have instead used velcro on the bottom of the stand and again on the speaker to secure it?...
Sorry about the very late reply, I haven't checked this forum for a while...

For those interested, These speakers are very heavy, the concern I would have about using Velcro is the surface area on the lower shelving bracket of the mount. It's not a completely flat surface, the middle is bowled in, giving a thin strip around the edges for you to adhere the Velcro to. That may not be enough, and could come back up depending on the angle you have and how much tension is being put on it.

Have you already mounted yours, EndersShadow? If so, how did it go?

As long as you drill lead holes, and don't go through the wood completely, the holes on the bottom shouldn't be a big deal.

As far as the L brackets, you'd need ones with the exact holes that match (or drill them yourself), just seems like a lot of unnecessary work, but would probably do the job. You would want to use different screws than the ones on the back of the speaker, longer with wider heads to keep it secure.

    Mr. Preston,
Wonderful tutorial sir, thanks for sharing. If you don't mind, I have a few questions for you concerning the drilling you did in your speakers. My situation is slightly different, I am attempting to mount a pair of TSi200's in a similar fashion. As someone else mentioned, I am also deathly afraid of drilling into these 300 dollar speakers just to find that I've gone to deep, or hit some of the internal mechanics. What size bit did you use for your pilot holes that you drilled? You only drilled into the bottom of the speakers as well correct, from what I can see and understood you did not put screws into the side brackets clamped to the speakers correct? What size screws did you use, or were all the screws used included with the unit. (the .5 inch ones?)
All I am finding is the PinPoint AM40 mounting solution, I assume it will work but am now concerned about about voiding my speaks warranty.
Thanks for any additional insight that you may be willing to offer,
also, how is your setup doing? No surprises I hope while you've had the stereo cranked up?!?

So you 100% need to drill into the monitor 40s to use these brackets? Is there anyway around that? I'm only 19, so I'm not going to mess with drilling holes and destroying my speakers i blew all my money on lol.

Based on the advice I got in this thread, I'm currently installing Monitor 40 surrounds with the AM40 mounts.

I think the Velcro vs Screws issue depends on whether you install the speakers vertical or slanting. I'm just a novice but my understanding is that surrounds shouldn't be "pointed" at the listeners in the first place; they should be vertical and over the listeners' heads to provide the intended ambiance effect. I think a little Velcro, along with the the clamps on the mount, provide a suitably stable installation, IF they're mounted vertically.

But the speakers do weigh 16 pounds each, and if I were mounting them slanted down like those in this current thread, I would definitely have been more comfortable using screws.

You will be fine pushing you speakers with that amp. Pretty sure its only around 110-110 watts (real power not speced power) pushing all 7 channels anyways.
