Replaced my Denon 3910 with a dedicated CD player

First let me say that I have always been happy with the Denon 3910 for my 2-channel listening. I purchased it about 2 years ago and it was a big step up from what I had been using before. Imaging is one of its strong points in my system, it has good detail, a good soundstage, and was just a very solid all-around player.
But I've been itching to move up to a better Redbook player for quite some time now, and I finally made the move. Last week I received my used Classe CDP-10 player and have been listening to it for a few days.
All I can say is WOW! The difference is stunning. Imaging hasn't changed much, nor has the soundstage, but the improvements in tonal quality, weight, and bass and mid-bass punch is not subtle. It is also a bit more detailed than the 3910, and I thought the 3910 was pretty good in the detail department.
But more than anything, it is simply in a completely different realm of musicality than the 3910. Music just seems so much more real and alive, with better tone and weight. I am finding myself just enjoying the music as apposed to analyzing it.
After having only logged a couple of days listening to it I will reserve complete judgment until more time has passed, but I am extremely happy with the results thus far.

Glad you found a cdp that kicks ****. Music with weight behind it is so much more enjoyable to me. I hate thin sounding music. Sounds like this may be your last cdp?

I'm not sure I'd go so far as to say that, but probably the last one for quite some timeSpeakers: Polk LSi15
