Simple answer question, but still got me stumped right now

I'm ordering some new stuff online and so far in my posession I have 2 Polk momo 10s, a momo 12 and 4 MM6 6.75 speakers (with tweeters and crossovers). I'm looking to get the PA1200.1 for the subs and possibly the PA500.4. My question is...

Would I be able to run the mm6 door speakers with the 500.4 BUT also have a set of the polk 3.5s amped off that too? If anything I would just use another amp for those but I'm looking simplistic. I'll eventually start posting up my progress on my car system when I get back home.

Thanks

Yes you can. The 500.4 works at 2 ohms stereo. But why would you want to? 2 pair of components is really too much. A third set would be WAY too much.

The MM6 are a nice set of speakers. I tuned a pair for someone of a local forum and they shaped up real well. In the upper mids they were actually warmer than the momo's I ran at that point.

My only issue is with the number of speakers you want to run. Two pairs of MM's, three subs and a pair of 3.5's.

Fronts plus the 12" is what pretty much everyone here runs. Less is more. Also what hu are you planning to run this off?

Sorry mac you posted while i was two finger typing. :o

I have a 07 jetta I'll be putting those in. Stock in the doors there are the front 7s, 3.5s and tweeters and the rear doors have 5.5-6.5s and tweeters. I've run two 10s and a 12 before in there and that sounded perfect. They were Infinty Perfect 10s and a Infinity Kappa perfect 12. The doors right now are Infinity (reference I think) 6.5s with tweeters. Maybe I imagined the sound was gonna be just a bit lower from the mm6s but if they're pretty warm sounding already then they ought to be fine. I liked how the subs I had ran cause the 10s hit good for drum bass/double bass and the 12 seemed to hit more of the bass guitar tones. I mainly listen to rock and metal but I like some rap every now n then. I'll probably just stick with the mm6s alone then.

I was just askin because I was thinking more along the lines of wiring issues with the crossovers. It's no big deal now though.

    Thanks!!

I ran a set of MM6 for a couple years and loved them! I think dollar for dollar theyre one of the best speakers ever. Theyre retired now and I have one of the MM6 mids autographed by Matt Polk so itll never see the inside of a car again.

The best way to run those speakers is to bi-amp them. The crossover isnt biampable so you have to run the mids full range but it works very well.

Wow..first question I am going to ask...why are you running 10's and 12's? You would be better off running all of one kind. I know that is not what you asked...but if anyone here remembers me ( I have not been on here in forever)... mixing subs like that not the best idea. If you want to run some 10's and a 15..go for it. couple 8's and some 12's...fine. But 10's and 12's... its a waste.

anyway...good luck with your system...and hello Macleod! I'm back =) sorta...

I liked the sound of the setup I had before and if it doesn't sound good then I got another 10 instead
