Can someone tell me what the ohms are on the rtia9's if Im biamping. I know they are 8 ohm nominal with the metal plates connecting the 2 sets of binding posts. Im thinking og biamping with 2 amps and need to know what they are individually. If the a9's are 8 ohm with the 2 sets of binding posts connected then I do not see now it can be 8 ohms still per binding post. Can someone please help me here. thanks everyone

    8ohms nominal. You're overthinking.

Maybe I am overthinking but.... Its 8 ohms with both sets of binding posts connceted. It cant be 8 when they are not. That just does not make sense. Or I am missing something. if each set of binding posts is 8 ohms then when hooked up with the metal peices for regular amping this would be like 2 8 ohms in parallel and should be 4 ohms. I cant find in the books or I may be blind but It still cant be 8 ohms per set of posts.
    What am I missing???????

It's designed as a 8ohm nominal loudspeaker regardless of bi-amping or bi-wiring. Loudspeakers will often dip into unrated loads depending on the material they are reproducing, it's common and not harmful to the loudspeaker. I understand your concern, stop worrying.

Do you also worry about the water pressure created when you use a plunger on a toilet? This can often exceed the washer ratings for the pipe fittings used or depending on the age of your house....you may blow out your wax seal.

The reason it is 8 ohms either way is due to the crossover. One set of binding posts goes through a high pass filter for the tweeter, while the other goes through a low pass filter for the woofer. When paralleled with the jumper, only the highs are going through one set, and only the lows are going through the other set. So, one posts impedence means nothing to the other. They're both only working with a certain set of frequencies.

Hopefully, you understand what I mean, as I find it hard to explain.

I'd love to see some pics of a bi-amped pair of RTiA9....that's pretty cool, get it in the showcase.

I will trust me. Even though seems most on this forum hate Emotiva. I love it and it brings polks to life. I will be biamping 2 xpa-3's to rtia9's and a csia6. But Im thinking the a6 dont need it since one binding post is only one tweeter so Ill biamp using only 2 ch off one xpa3 to send about 225 watts to the subs and 200 to the tweets. I think this should sound great as it allready does. ;)
Also where is the showcase? where can I post pics? Ill do it tomorrow.

Look at the bar on the top of each thread.... System Showcase.

Pretty good instructions for how to post your stuff there too.

Just out of curiosity, why the "Emotiva hate"? I don't own one, but I almost never hear bad things about them.
