OK, I have decided to go with the RTi A7 as my 2 main front speakers along with a CSi A4 as my center speaker. I have already ordered this combination but I am starting to wonder if I should have went with the CSi A6 instead of the CSi A4. Will I miss anything by going with the A4???

Another question is, I currently have the DSW Pro 600 as my Sub woofer. Any ideas on on how I should set the cross over???

For the surrounds I will have 4 RM 8's. I am currently using 2 RM 8's as my main 2 fronts along with a matching center speaker. 2 RM 8's for side surround and 2 RM 7's for the 2 back surrounds. The RM 8's actually produce an amazing amount of sound. But I am really looking forward to the RTi 7's.

    If the RM8 is what you are currently using?....wow, you're in for a dramatic change in soundstage and I'd sit down and enjoy your new HT. If you start thinking about upgrades before you've even heard the new stuff...you're in for a long haul. You made excellent choices.

    Subwoofer = 80hz
    CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

    the CSI A6 is a better center, and people that switched from the A4 to A6 notices a diffference.

    I have the A4 and am happy with it. Everyone always says to get the bigger center if at all possible buy it would not fit in the location that i needed it too. you will be very happy with the A4. It will blow away what you have been using up until now.

    Congrats.

    Thanks for the help everyone! If I set the cross to 80 on the sub, what should I do in the receiver settings? Should I set the front speakers to small or large? I am using a Sony DA3400ES. It comes with a small microphone so you can auto calibrate etc, but I can also manually do the setup as well.

    I am not new at all to Polk speakers, I do own a Pair of SDA 1C's and a pair of Monitor 10B's. I use the 10B's in the master bedroom and the SDA 1C's just sit in my closet unused. I just hate the thought of parting with them. My wife keeps hinting that they should go. I just can't use them in my Theater setup because of the way the room is setup. There just isn't enough room, even though the room is 15x30. The room is very awkward because of the fireplace, slider doors and a fairly large entryway to the rest of my house. I REALLY REALLY do not like the room, but it is what I have, so I have to live with it.

    I say keep them set to small. when you do the auto calibrating that is where it will most likely put them anyways.

    SDA 1C's??? NICE!! you can just drop them off at my house.:) that will make your wife happy and my wife mad problem solved;)

    Typically you would want to set the crossover on the sub itself as high as it will go. Then in the receiver set everything to small. This will send all of the lower frequencies to the sub. When set to small it should then allow you to set a manual crossover. You can set them to 80 or possibly just a little lower, like 60, since the 7's can go pretty low on their own.

    I'm from the old school, been messing w/biamping/triamping decadesbefore HT got serious. Start @ 100 hz; let your sub handle most if not all the "low end duty." If you find it runs out before the rest of your system, add a twin, upgrade, or upgrade w/2!
