PC Gaming Setup
Disclaimer: I've dug through most of the threads, but if the answer I'm looking for has been given before, feel free to just toss me a link.
I've been thinking for quite some time about how to upgrade my PC setup with decent sound. I've listened to some of the "gaming speakers in a box" setups and am not very impressed with them. I'd like to go to a 5.1 solution, but 2.1 will work too.
The primary concern that I have is that the left/right/center channel speakers will be about 3/2/3 feet away from me on the desk. I'm not sure that most Polk products are really designed to have me sitting right on top of them.
That being said, willing to have a go at it, so here I am. The rear surrounds would be about 7 feet behind me on the wall. I'd probably pair this with a low-end Onkyo receiver.
Any advice appreciated. Current speaker setup is a sub with a couple of electrostatic screens. It needs to go. Thanks.

A pair of TSi100/200s with a sub would rock for a gaming rig. If you have the space a pair of Rti8s with a sub will blow you away as well. With the prices they're going for you can't go wrong with either I mentioned. Elemental Design makes a killer 10"inch sub in the 200-300 price range.Shoot the jumper.....................BALLIN.............!!!!!

Ben,
I'm only running a 22" LCD for my PC Monitor, so not sure that having ~5" of SurroundBar sticking out on either end is where I want to go. I'll keep thinking about it though, thanks. -

LOL. RTi8's!?! I'm running RT2000I's as the mains for my HT setup. A little much for my office rig.
The TSi's on the desk with maybe a set of RM's back on the wall might be the way to go though. Might also get the wife to kill me. We'll see. Thanks for the advice. -
I am extremely happy with my Logitech Z-5500 5.1 THX setup for PC. If you can find one used go for it. Very very good sound on PC.SDA-1C (full mods)

Z-5500 is very good but if you want the compactness of 2.1 systems, you can't go wrong with Klipsch PromediaOnkyo 805, RtiA5s, Csi5, Rti6s
