3 channel amps

I really need more power to run my system (currently a Denon 3802) because the HT room is a very large rec type room. If I get a 3 channel amp (200 w) to run fronts and center, and use the current receiver for rears, will this give me the power I am looking for or will I still be straining the receiver to run the rears?

Thanks.

You will be fine. Remeber that most speakers are 88-93db at 1 watt/meter. Taking some load off the receiver will help the rear channels keep up.
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks
