Budget= around 300.......

Found this Mirage BPS-150i for pretty cheap, was wondering if I should go for it or just get a dsw 600 off the ebay site. I am looking for something that will give me that loud as hell movie experience. Open to other suggestions for this price range too! I like USED and refurb stuff

    Right now I have a psw125 and I am wondering if the dsw pro 600 would be a worthwhile upgrade. The psw just does not get as low and as loud as I want.

    Don't pass judgement on the DSW subwoofers based on your experience with PSW series subs. The new line is much better than the old and the Pro's are a worthy contender.

    i auditioned the PSW125 at the time and it sounded flat in the showroom where the RTIA9 were connected to AMPs, they sounded lower (they are rated 17HZ), the DSW pro 600 has a presence, as per Polk it's 8 times louder on the ultra low rating (90.5 db 32 HZ rating VS 100 db 20 HZ rating), the DSW is totally different than the PSW.

    How much do you want to spend...did you say how big your room was? I can't compare the 125 to the 600 but I can speak about its predecessor the PSW12 which on paper was only a 100 watts but hit a bit deeper....with a lot of port noise...the PSW could get pretty loud in a 25 X 11.5 X 8.5 room but it didn't get much below 33hz. I now own a sub very much like a 600 spec wise....a 12" of 300 watts RMS/600 peak with a 25hz low and I'm getting much more of that LFE LOW END from it. So yeah the 600 will play considerably louder and lower than the 125....in fact although the 125 is more 'controlled bass' than the PSW12---it does not go as LOW.

    Other subs to look at are SVS and HSU subs in your price range...you can find them on line...And Velodynes (12") 200 or more watts RMS--the numbers keep changing--go to their sites....Any of these subs will give you more of what you want.

    Personally I'd go with about a 550-600 dollar SVS 12"....plenty of slam for you! Another good bang for your buck seems to be Elemental Designs subs? Also online.

    Im not entirely sure the exact size of my room but I think its no bigger than 15 x 15 its really not too big. My budget is around 300, which would mean maybe a little over at most. I am very open to used options. I am just asking is there some decent used sub for around my range that would fit what I want or will the refurb 600 do just that

    In your room, the 600 will do more than fine.

    I run a MicroPro 1k (MUCH smaller and doesn't get near as loud as a 600) and it does a good job of filling in my 14x14 room with tight, accurate and punchy bass.

    If you are looking for low and loud and not something amazing for music I really like my Klipsch Sub 12s. Even 1 of these in a mid size room is enough to shake the walls and I enjoyed it so much I bought another. A used one in good shape normally fetches between 250 and 300 after shipping on ebay. It is now discontinued so you can't find them new besides online. Vanns.com sells a new one for 350 with free shipping...

    Well amigos here is what I did: I saw on Newegg they had a psw505 for around 200 with free 3 day shipping. So I purchased it and am going to keep my psw125 and use the subs together. I know together they will bring that loudness I desire and the psw505 will supposedly hit some of those lower hertz that I am desiring. Hopefully I will like this. If not I will definitely sell them both and spend somewhere in the 400 range for a good used sub. Comments....ideas....

    a good choice,

    u have to adjust the subs in order to smoothen the bass effect across ur setup, try to consider getting a sub raiser which helps out in getting more dbs out of your sub.
