I have a pair of rtia9's powerd by a rotel rb 1080. The fuses are blowing internally. Not even playing very loud. Rotel said my speakers are rated for 500 watts and the fuse's will keep blowing. Speakers are underpowered. Should I sell and buy a rotel rb 1090 ????????

Your RB1080 should power them just fine. 500 watts is not required to play them, you can use 50 (will sound like crap) but for the most part it should not be blowing fuses. Pull everything out, clean all your binding posts and make sure the little wires haven't shorted anything!Main Surround -

Rotel knows there is an issue with early model RB-1080 blowing fuses - there is a factory fix for this.[

Had a Rotel 1080 on my A9's without any issue. Sounded great, played loud and never had any fuse issues. Definitely a Rotel problem not the a9's.
No need to buy the 1090 unless you just want to. Call Rotel again. -
Rotel not owning up. Not your speakers. I'm running 1090 on my A9's with no issues other than after 3 CD's my ears are ringing. Aint life great! LOL. The 1090 really woke up the A9's. Was using Carver M-400 before. Vocal clarity and sound stage out of this world.

I used to own a RB1080 and i never cared for it,I had problems with the fuses blowing and to tell you the truth it always sounded constrained and boring. It was the heaviest and most expensive doorstop of a amp i have ever had the displeasure of listening to.TUBES RULE !Rogue Audio stereo 100 tube amplifier - Lector Zoe preamplifier with 6H30 pi's
