Are there any recievers with Class A, A/B and D amps all in one?
I have the Pioneer Elite SC-05 with Class D ICEpower amps. Usually Class D amps produce excellent dynamics, clarity, and especially image focus on familiar recordings, solid soundstaging and well fleshed out, three dimensional, stable images. However, like all Class D amps Ive heard, they also sounded somewhat dark and lacked the air, transparency, and full palette of harmonic colors that even modestly priced non-switch-mode Class A and A/B amps deliver with ease. I heard some gorgeous sounding prototype Pioneer Class A monoblock amps at CES a couple years ago.
Is it safe to say that Class D amps are better for movies/tv/sports and Class A and B amps are better for music for vocal accuracy and instruments?

Wyred 4 Sound does class D the right way. It's the best sounding amp I've had in my rig so far."He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you." Friedrich Nietzsche
