Do all amps that can handle 4 ohm loads have a button or switch that allows them to choose 4 or 8 ohms? My Soundcraftsmen does not, but I heard that some do. Is there something I need to do to tell the amp that I am hooking in tougher to drive speakers?

That's a "feature" you find on receivers, not amps.

My amps have three sets of binding posts. 2, 4 and 8. It is just a matter of hooking them up where I prefer. It was like Goldilocks and the 3 bears. 2 Ohm was too thin, 8 too fat and 4 just right.

The only switch I have my amps is for balanced or unbalanced besides the power and meter lights.
