    Paging Freddy and others....

I'd be inclined to say yes, assuming that they don't need work. That first pair is intriguing to me.
I don't read the newsssspaperssss because dey aaaallllllllll...... have ugly print.

I think that Dorokusai has had some Magnepans IIRC.

I have heard people rave about these and I would be interested but have to pass. I really want to try some Martin Logan's in the future.

Probably a little too late to help you, but I have a pair of these (with the black sock) and I absolutely love them. So much that I just picked up a pair of their bigger brothers (MG-1's) on Saturday. I am not sure if that's a great price, I got both my sets for 200 each, (actually traded a pair of Energy pro-22's that I was trying to sell for 200 for the SMGa's) but value may vary with location/demand...

zarrdoss, I'm probably a bit too late to respond as well.

First link is gone, second link has them up for a bit too much.

Unless they're in mint condition and come with boxes/etc. I wouldn't even pay $300. I may have paid upwards of that for my Maggies (MG-1B's) but they definitely have more depth/wider soundstage/more bass than the SMG's. The SMG's however are a real treat and I'm sure you'll enjoy them if you ever get your ears on a pair.

If you think about getting some Martin Logan's I'd say give Magnepan a try, I'm sure you'd be able to get more for your money with a pair of Maggies.

Make sure to examine them properly for any signs of wear/tear or damage.
