Has anyone done a head unit replacement on the new F150's? Ive seen the double din installation kits online but I'm not sure how good it'll look compared to the stock unit. I want to get a double din screen to put in there, probably a Premier F90BT.

A little, I've seen the kit on Ebay, $30 shipped. Its just that the interiors in the new F150s are really different and I don't know how the dash kit will blend in with the rest of the interior. I really want to add a double din DVD player, anyone here with a new F150 that can give some insight?

I have whats called a magnelli marelli head unit. It is part of fords work solutions program. It has navi and is a double din, but is not the sync system. I hate it and I cannot add anything like sat radio nor a usb or aftermarket mp3 player. I want to buy a pioneer double din head unit, but crutchfield is clueless as to whether or not I need an install kit. I have searched the net relentlessly for an answer and no one has any clue. Does anyone here?

I will see if I can find the information for you on this. My friend bought a 2009 F150 with the woodgrain interior. We used a standard kit and he had it painted for about $100.00. It matched perfectly. I just can't remember where he had it done.

I found a kit on ebay, but I just don't understand why I woudl have to change out my stock trim ring. I already have a double din opening with a touchscreen head unit in there. I don't get why I couldn't just swap it out with the new one.
