Well my local CL was my friend again today, and I picked up a pair of S8's in pretty good shape. 30 bucks and he even had the paperwork on the speakers. I bought them with the intention of using them as computer speakers. OMFG these are huge. Bookshelfs? Uh, NOT!!

    Cool! Nice cones! :p

I wish I could find deals like that! Everything I find tends to be 2+ hours away.

I see a lot of horrible deals every day, and a couple good ones every few months. Check your local CL daily, and if you're not near a major city be prepared to drive. Sometimes it's worth it :D

    Hey Christopher, nice grab there!

I emailed the guy a question regarding how far he is exactly from Portage Park (six corners). He responds with -

    good evening -
    it's a bit of drive
    thank you

After that, I said the hell with it. Guy must be a complete idiot. Glad someone on the forum picked them up though! Think you should toss your RT7's my way ;)

    Congrats on a great find.

    How do they sound ?

I have seen these before and sort of dismissed them since they spring clips for the leads. That may have been a mistake.

Twin 7" woofers does not make for a small speaker, even if it is classified as a bookshelf. :p

Not sure how they sound yet because of those stupid spring clips. I'll post an update soon though.
