Dynaco FM-5 & SCA-80Q amp
Systems

Both look almost new. A friend spotted them in my garage one day and asked if they just came out of the box. The FM-5 had a bad power switch that is built into the volume control (FM-5 also works as a preamp) I bypassed the power switch section of the knob and use the switched power from the SCA-80Q to power on and off. The volume still works perfectly. The SCA-80Q really has some power to it. A beast of an amp IMO. I'm looking to sell both as a set but will seperate if needed and both have interest.
$225 shipped OBO. Please PM with offers. Pics if needed on request.

nice little history and picture of the sca-80q can be found here...

(note last line for difference vs sca-80)
and the fm-5 here...

note that the two units do match (look the same), but the one pictured here is in the optional wood enclosure. -
Pics. The faces have a slight gold tone to them that I couldn't capture in the pics. Cheap @ss camera!Testing

Damn. Those are nice. I wish i could justify buying them. I don't anticipate them sticking around long, though.
These would be a NICE pairing with some Monitor 5/7s.I don't read the newsssspaperssss because dey aaaallllllllll...... have ugly print.

I had them pushing some Pioneer 77's in my garage. Plenty of power from what is supposed to be only 40wpc. That SC-80Q is built like a tank and has some beer can caps inside that deliver some real power. I never went past 10 O'clock on the volume and could hear the music well across my backyard.Testing

I'm interested. Please provide pics.

That SCA-80Q with DynaQuad circuit is a cool item. Why they didn't include a separate volume control for the rear speakers escapes me. You drive four Dynaco A-25's or a pair of A-25's with a pair of A-10's in the rear with that amp and you're in for some fun. Great memories and great sound.

You're unlikely to get a response. The thread is almost 2 years old and 187cam doesn't post anymore. Stranger things have happened though, so good luck, they definitely look nice.Things work out best for those who make the best of the way things work out.-John Wooden
