Sure some of you have some funny stories and PICTURES. Share them please. So think back:rolleyes:

I ordered some RTi a7's from polk direct recently (164 lbs.)and must say when I received them, there was not much more than a crinkle in the box. Ultimately the items were delivered by Conway freight, but throughout the transit it changed hands twice. But I have noticed that with different online merchants the box just doesnt seem to survive with some carriers.

Give us your take on your carrier: UPS, FEDEX, USPS, DHL, ALL OTHERS

I also received some merchandise from Amazon which again, quick shipping but not even a corner crushed on the box and delivered by fedex. Of the items I havent received, well they are still in the hands of USPS which seem to be the slowest of all the carriers. Others may have different opionions, but lets not make it a retailer bashing contest.

I home office. I get a lot of equipment send here and on customer sites.
FEDEX is good. UPS could break a rock in a box.

I remember when the ups truck pulled into my driveway with my new rtia9s. oh the anticipation! when the backdoor opened I couldn't beleive my eyes, looked like they loaded them with a bulldozer. As I helped the driver unload he looked at the boxes and said um... uh...good luck with those. I told him he wasn't going anywhere untill I opened the boxes and inspected for damage. he than said, hah, won't make a difference, ups will fight it till the end. the boxes were trashed, even the styrofoam inside was mangled. the speakers did survive with minimal damage, 2 quarter sized dents in one and a nickel size dent in the other. they were insured for more than their value so I called ups and they said too bad, poor packaging , not our problem. It was a piss poor packing job so I contacted the seller and he did pay for the repairs.

If the item has any chance of being damaged I'll never use ups again. I do like fedx, I'm on a first name basis with the driver who has my house on his route. nice fellow and seems to really care about how peoples packages arrive. the exact opposite of that ups driver.

I'm all about Fedex. They are the ONLY carrier that has never given me a problem, and they're always right on time with their anticipated delivery dates for me. The only time i deal with USPS is if i have to ship overseas, since Fedex caters to the businesses only for that, and will charge you out the ****. :(

I work in a department of defense warehouse and deal with all of them, everyday. Fedex is by far better, IME. UPS tosses boxes around like they're empty. UPS will also give a box to just about anyone who is willing to take it--I filed 2 complaints about this issue. Just take a look at the inside of a Fedex truck and a UPS truck; in the UPS truck everything is just piled up, unorganized--not so with Fedex. This should tell you something about the way they do business. As far as freight liners, Yellow Freight is terrible. The only damaged equipment I have ever received came from Yellow, and it has happened numerous times.

There isn't a freight or parcel company out there that doesn't have it's problems. The thing to consider is how often mistakes are made and how they work with you to resolve them. In the last 10 years, UPS has lost or damaged maybe 5 boxes leaving my facility. In all of those instances I was reimbursed in full without hassle. Considering they're here on a daily basis I consider that acceptable. Furthermore, my customers haven't complained about how the packages arrive.

I absolutely despise having to work with FedEx. I don't ship with them often enough to comment on the frequency of their package losses/damages, but how they conduct their business is very unfriendly to the infrequent customer.

For an example, I do a lot of business with Kohler (you probably shat in one of their terlits this morning) and they recently started demanding that their vendors ship via FedEx Ground Collect on their account number.

Their website is atrocious for printing labels. If you have to schedule a pick-up, they won't show up until the following day (I'm in a freakin' industrial park). They won't let you print a shipping manifest until the day of shipment. Then, they can't even get the billing right. In fact, I have an invoice from FedEx right now and it even says that the shipment was COLLECT right on it.

You'd think FedEx was the union operation considering what a clusterfuck their service is.

My favorite freight companies are FedEx Freight (go figure) and Roadway (Now YRC since they merged with Yellow). The freight is always on-time, the rates are very good, and they don't damage our products. I also work with every major defense contractor and their logistics departments tend to use YRC and CCX the most, especially on the east coast.

We never think about the flip side of actually having to deal with a carrier as a vendor, Im sure you know first hand all about the good, bad, and ugly.
