Hi

Something I have never heard mentioned on this forem. I think it is a good ideal to disconnect and reconnect all your components and speaker connections around once a year. The connections can oxidize over time and have a negative effect on the signal. A long time ago, I had a connection that was so bad that the channel went dead.

A word to the wise::

    Not only should this be practiced but it doesn't hurt to wipe the contacts with an electrical contact cleaner. I use TPC (The Perfect Conection).

    Also;

    Audio and Video calibrations.

    About once a month I go thru and recalibrate using AVIA and an SPL meter.

    Good idea.
    I'm thinking of adding a breaker to the fuse box and running a separate line to my home theater/stereo. I put one in for the microwave, why not for something I care about. It's pretty cheap to do, and that way the little lady's hair dryer, the toaster, and all the other other assorted crap of modern living aren't sucking off the same line.
