Yesterday I pulled infront of the building where my wife works. Who do I see standing on the sidewalk? Mr. Jean Chretien. No security around him what so ever, he is alone waiting for his ride as I have noticed many times in the past. Funny how our former Prime Minister walks around with no escorts/secret service. Mind you we've only just had our 7th murder last week in a city and burbs (metro area) of about 1m people.
Not sure, but don't you former Presidents travel with SS?

    I bet those 7 were all family disputes. Yep, US presidents have SS for life.

    Not an apple to apples comparsion though.

    BTW, Canada should have bailed Nortel out

    It would appear at least when traveling internationally. I was eating at some some small restaurant in Quito, Ecuador a few years back when about six or seven guys straight out of the Matrix entered. Right behind them, Jimmy Carter and his wife. We all stood. He went table to table to greet us. And we resumed our meals...
    The place was nothing fancy so it was kind of a random encounter. Interestingly enough, I sat next to his nephew in an Astronomy class at my college so I was able to bring that up. Talk about a small world.
    I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down.     All of the bad people in Canada went to the southern states in the US for the winter. He's relatively safe during the winter months, eh!

    Yes they get security for the rest of their lives. Not sure why. They hold no power any more and cannot become president again.

    Seems like a wast of money. Well I guess that is what government is all about. Spending as much tax payers money as they can.

    7 this year? We do that a month around these parts (a little exaggerated ). Kind of a hobby really.

    Not sure, but don't you former Presidents travel with SS?
    He is getting older but who knows, maybe someone attacking him would need protection still, remeber the days ;) Mr. Jean Chretien always been a pain for the RCMP, I also heard Trudeau's family was also somewhat hard to protect (wife)

    Mr. Chretien could hold his own in any crowd. Only protection he needs you can buy at any pharmacy. He stood up to George W. didn't he?
