Okay Sean started a great thread about songs that you love to crank up, But we also need a thread about which songs cause you to take the 12ga. to the in-dash 8 track so you don't have to listen to that whinney, cheese eating, goat faced artist who sings the worst damn song of all time!!

Benny and the Jets...Elton John at his worst!

Freebird.....Overplayed to the point of causing nausea!

Stairway to Heaven.....I just can't handle this feeble attempt at music.

Billy Jean....Well MJ did have a few chart toppers that I will admit to listening to, but this ain't one of them!

Convoy...Who the hell is C.W McCall anyway?!?

Anything by Minnie Ripperton.

Surfer Girl......I hope she get's eaten by a shark......ACK!

Whats up with the group of 4yr olds singing the chorus in Convoy all about anyway? TRUELY unlistenable.

That song 'Let's hear it for the boy' from the Footloose soundtrack, makes me want to get my sling blade on.

Of course ANYTHING, I mean ANYTHING by Garth Brooks. Eff that dude, I can't STAND that load of horse manure he peddles. I know country, and THAT ain't country.

I can't think of anymore now that I have Garth on my mind. AAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGG!!!!!

    Mx,

Creed is cool stuff dude. You're missing something here.

One of the worst and overplayed too from a few years ago has got to be:

Hanson's MMMBop (perhaps cool if you're like a seven year old).

also the "Its fun to stay at the YMCA" song just irritates me (just hate it!)

Don't get me wrong man, I have every Creed CD. But in my opinion: They are over-rated, over-played. Their first cd and second cd was pretty cool. Scott Stapp and them put a lot of effort into those albums. This last album was like someone wrote the lyrics and paid them mega bucks to sing it like pop stars. I just couldn't get into the new album. The old albums kick though but Creed is seriously OVER-PLAYED. Sad really, takes 3-4 years to release an album and its dead within a month because of the radio. Ohh well, good luck to creed. Hanson was a joke, my sister loved them though so I had to put up with it! lol!

    Ebony and Ivory.

Although the irony is pretty good.

In the same spirit, what is the most disappointing CD-by-a-one-hit-wonder you've purchased? I bought the Republica CD after seeing them perform Ready to Go on Letterman. The rest of the CD (except maybe a song or two) is pretty nasty. Also, Merril Bainbridge .. the hit was Mouth .. the remaining songs are actually harmful to bear. Oh ya, man.. Jewel. I really liked Who Will Save Your Soul (I think the video had something to do with that), but man was that song a sucker play.

No, some rap and hip hop is good. For example, Common is quite talented. Jurrasic 5 too.

I do have to agree with you on Nelly. Damn. That's just annoying. Not even remotely entertaining.

Avril Lavange (spelling). Ugh, you're not a skater, so don't act like one.

I don't care for her music either Brett, but man, no falsetto there, she truely has a 5-6 octave vocal range that in and of itself is rare, and kinda cool.

(the exact range has been debated, publicists intially said she had a 7 or 8 oct range, which is near impossible)

I have to agree with Creed, biggest Christian Rock ripoff of Pearl Jam. Arms wide open???

Dixie Chicks really get on my nerves. Cover of Fleetwood Mac's Landslide is the worst cover ever recorded, I can't believe it gets played.

    burdette,

Jewel. I really liked Who Will Save Your Soul (I think the video had something to do with that), but man was that song a sucker play.

I'm going to have to defend Jewel a little. Her first album was kind of weak; I really like her second album "spirit" though. The whole cd is packed with bass and her voice just sounds magnificent on my LSi 9's. Check it out if you liked "who will save your soul".

    P.

p.s. from Megadeth, Metallica, Rush, Pink Floyd, Zeppelin, Ozzy, etc... to now I'm listening to Jewel and Jazz and stuff... not that I'm a wuss or anything but my appreciation for different kinds of music has really grown. 300 plus cds and growing..

She would be ok if she kept to a normal tone, and then didn't have half of her songs with her screeching/squeeling/yelping/yodeling etc........irritating as hell.....
