Micropro questions

As some of you may have noticed by my retarded posts, I just acquired 2 micropro 1ks, and have a question or two. They concern the corner, mid wall, mid room, cabinet settings. What is changed when one is selected? For example: if you select "corner" does it cut/boost certain frequencies to avoid the boom effect when a sub is in a corner, what frequencies does it cut or boost? Same question goes for the other settings. I'm going to make myself paranoid until I figure this out:o Also is there a way to know they are turned off, or is one always selected? Knowing these things will help in the next few days while I'm still finalizing the placement and adjustments:) FWIW, I'm really loving the dual 1k set up so far! Any knowledge would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Congrats on the subs, but uhm did you read the manual?

You can tell whether they're on or not by the blue led status indicator. Also on the rear you'll have the option to either always have it on, auto turn on (which turns the sub on when it senses a signal) or a 'always off until you turn it on manually with a remote' option.

As far as the 'placement' settings, I never noticed a difference when switching between them. Honestly I'd say that's utilized with the 2k and up models seeing as they come with a detachable mic for better customizing.

Read the manual. Then experiment. Lots. You'll get there.

Sorry, I should have clarified my question a little more. I was referring to the settings of "corner, mid room etc. being on, if there is a setting in which none of those settings are applied. It does the different blinks of the light to show which setting is applied when you press it on the remote, but there is no option for none. Does that make more sense? I leave it to auto detect to come on, so I understand that part:)

Yeah, I can't tell much difference to the settings either, but I'm not used to the sub yet, and figured I just have a bad ear:confused:

I think what he's asking, is whether or not there is an option to turn off all of the various EQ settings(corner, mid-wall etc.), and run it without the internal room optimization.

I don't have any MicroPro's...so I'm not sure. I'm considering going with either dual 1000's or 2000's when I upgrade my sub though. Dual Epik Vanquishs or Sentinels are high up on the list too.

Thanks curt! That's exactly what I was trying to figure out:) I suck at putting things into written word:o FWIW, I'm loving the dual micropro1k set up! I have hardwood floors, and they are almost like tactile transducers. It's like getting a massage every time I watch a movie:D

I believe the MicroPro series defaults to a phase 0°, Cabinet, volume 20 setting when reset to their defaults using the remote. I too would actually have liked a "kill all EQ" setting so my AVR's autosetup could more easily calibrate the sub with the other speakers. Many people have noted that Audyssey or YPAO equipped AVRs are actually better at setting up the sub than the sub itself. I too found this to be true on my MP4K, as the sub's auto setup actually muffled the bass in about four different frequency ranges, really making it sound unnatural.
