Pretty nice but ID can be had for better and less money. A friend had one and it did sound good. I am not much for the remote as there is no gain control knob IIRC.Speakers: SDA-1C (most all the goodies)

I heard the 12" version and it was very musical."He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you." Friedrich Nietzsche

I'm running dual SPL-1200R's in my system with outstanding results for both HT & two channel. Extremely fast & musical, you'll be very pleased with the SPL-1500R for sure!! I would have loved to have gone with dual 15's but space was an issue. I'd say grab it & don't look back!!!"2 Channel & 11.2 HT "Two Channel:Magnepan LRSSchiit Audio Freya S - SS preConsonance Ref 50 - Tube preParasound HALO A21+ 2 channel ampBluesound NODE 2i streameriFi NEO iDSD DAC Oppo BDP-93KEF KC62 sub Home Theater:Full blown 11.2 set up.

You can't make even a retail boxstore Velo sub sound bad. There are ID subs that will own it for output and visceral impact for less, but they ain't going to sound better for music. It all depends on what you're looking for.

+1 on the SPL series if you need a sealed sub.Do you hear that buzzing noise?

spl-r 1500 is sitting in postion and sounds very sweet.....there was a cap upgrade done by Velo and this sub had that done at the factory, does rock the house and aint too shabby for music either has maybe 20 hours on it if that.....less than half the size of the VMPS
