Recoton is the parent company of Advent, Acoustic Research, Jensen, and several others. They had also owned NHT until they sold it to Rockford in December.

Thats a shame, if acoustic research doesnt get bought and continued, Monster cables are only going to get more expensive.

seemed like their website is all but gone, was that where you said the deals were? Somehow I think my 'dirt cheap' and your 'dirt cheap' may be orders of magnitude apart ;)

The bankruptcy thing is just bankruptcy protection as they restructure. They have recently sold NHT, Stinger, Best Kits, and Interact in an attempt to pay off some debt (those sales gave them about $50 Million). I know that the Chapter 11 is only in the US, and here in Canada, Recoton is not in bankrutpcy protection.

    Don't count them out yet...

    north51,

heard from a couple of sources from Future Shop that they're phasing out the AR products. They'll start introducing monster by next week.

Any word of that? Personally I think they're out.

Too bad you're missing out on the AR sales points but then again they're going bankrupt!!

    Lookin out for deals soon.

    Bebgie,

From what Recoton is telling us, they're sticking around. That is what you would expect them to say, though, so we'll see what happens.

The Monster Cable will be set up in stores this week. With the Best Buy merger, I expected this because BB carry Monster.

    I guess it's a wait-and-see with Recoton.

They're out. With them firing all staff in their New York HQ, it's bound to trickle down. Plus, it makes you think -why Future Shop is NOW introducing Monster and reducing AR !!!! That's enough proof for ya .

Don't hold your breath for these guys. They made some good products.

Now it's just a matter of timing to catch any liquidation sales !

The bargain sales has already started:

    http://store.acousticsounds.com/python_sale.cfm?keywords=newsletter041703

still expensive, but nevertheless, a lost cheaper than msrp.

EDIT: wrong items, still a good discount on Audioquest I/C
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.
