2 Thumbs up. Very heart-warming, true story of a kid from the rough projects of Memphis and the family that take him in.
Football, a blonde Sandra Bullock, Kathy Bates, and a very convincing Quinton Aaron in the starring role of Michael Oher- what's not to like?

TAKE THE WHOLE FAMILY AND SEE IT!!!

I'm going to take a ride to my local homeless shelter, pick out the biggest kid there, take him home and see how it pans out.

Will only work out if you have Bullock at home! I wonder how much of this movie is real and how much is Hollywood hype? Still...it's nice to have a feel good movie to watch every now & then!

I read a couple articles after watching the movie about what was real adn what was hype. It seems the biggest "license" the movie took was that in reality, the kid DID know how to play football before coming into the family, and apparently the real kid that the movie is based off of was kinda pissed that they made him out to be such a dullard.

But the spirit of the movie seems pretty correct (Again, based on random things I read around the Internet).

It's always interesting to read that type of criticism when it's obviously written by an elitist snob who only writes to hear himself talk. "infantilizing didacticism masquerades as humantiarianism"? Die in a fire.

The professional movie reviewers are artists painting a colorful picture for us with their prose.

    Not everyone appreciates their work.

If they were artists painting colorful pictures with their prose, they would be novelists instead of just some shmoe writing a movie review. As it is, the flowery language serves only to prove that their review is completely out of touch with the intended audience. Not hatin'... just sayin'.

You hit the nail! It's a friggin movie for entertainment not a documentary that needs to have a high hat response such as highlighted above. UGH!

Anyway, I would much rather read what the average Joes write about a movie, such as what we have here, rather than read a critics "deep thoughts" and over analyizing of something as frivolous as a movie made for entertainment.
