I wish that was cheap for me...I need to pay tuition! Although I listened to these at Best Buy, and I would buy them if I had the money.

1000 a pair is a pretty good price but I'm, personally, not wowed by Martin Logans and the electro-static scene. They sound good enough...but I prefer some of Focal's Profile series in that somewhat higher priced category.

Yeah, its really only $500 off MSRP for the pair. Hardly dirt cheap.
For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore...

Agreed on this; not too impressed with electrostatics, and if I were to go that route, I like Quads better than ML. But I still prefer the conventional loudspeaker to either. The speakers the OP posted I actually preferred over the electrostatics ML had there to demo.

I'm saying that I liked the pair of conventional M/L's that the OP posted as opposed to the ML electrostatics that I also auditioned that day. And in general I prefer conventional speakers over electrostatics, but if I were to buy an electrostatic it would likely be Quad. In other words, I liked the ML Preface more than the Source, if I have the model names correct.
