If you check completed listings, they seem to go anywhere from $250 to $400.

Thanks! never tried that feature on e-bay. Now could someone tell me the difference between a 555 and a 555 II ?

You'll hopefully get more educated responses, but the 555 is the original, with the 555 II being produced much more recently. My reading tells me that the original is much more highly regarded than the newbie.

Well I'm glad to hear that because I just won the auction! whoo hoo! Now I need a pre-amp for it.

You now have a man amp!
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks
    Ben

    +1.

Search for posts on this by heiney9 where he explains that the original was a design by Nelson Pass..and that when asked what he thought of Adcom's fooling with his primary design...he didn't think much about what they did and would not have bothered making things more complex rather than 'simpler'!

Use the search function...I have an original and I think it's a great amp for the coin...and almost indestructible!

    Enjoy....

Congrats, if you want to stay Adcom you should go with an older GFP-715 or GFP-750 pre...
