Hello, I just got a new subwoofer its a klipsch 12 synergy it has Gain,Low pass, phase and auto/on. I have ls90's for the fronts, rt25i's for the surrounds, no center yet but looking for a cs400i. I have a yamaha rx-v861 receiver.Just looking for some advice on what to set it up on. Is there anything I need to do to the receiver or just plug it up. Thanks

Do you have the owners manuals to any of your gear?

Set the receiver to 80hz, have the subwoofer take everything below that. The Low Pass on your sub should be set to 80hz or higher since your receiver won't send anything over 80 to it. Gain - set it to whatever you like. Auto for power.

go to this link and download the manual, I have a polk sub and keep it on auto and it seems that it goes on when whatever you're watching/listening to has a "bass" sound. I use it as an energy saver, no sense to leave it on 24/7. But I'm not an advanced techy when it comes to the technical side so dont take my word for it.

With ls90's,using front /large setting , couldn't the sub be set to 60 or even fifty maybe?
