1.3 Depends on why it was free in the first place. Most cell phones plans I think nowadays have US long distance included. If that was the reason, it will still be free. If you don't have free long distance, and you get if free because of mobile-to-mobile, favorites, etc. it will no longer be free. I think that answers the question anyways.

For 1.1 So it would be in my parents best interest to NOT use my google voice number and continue to use my regular number, that way it will still be local.


As far as 1.3 went, I meant if we had free mobile to mobile through t-mobile. So I will get charged for those minutes using my GV#. Good to know.

Seriously though, if your parents are still paying long distance, they need to find a phone service from sometime after 1980.
